![]() Allison English | Chicago, ILAllison stepped on the mat 13 years ago after suffering a severe back injury from figure skating and she has never looked back. First as a vehicle out of pain and back to movement, then as a system of spiritual connection and healing, Allison has turned to yoga over and over again to enrich and inspire her life from all angles. Certified in Forrest Yoga in 2004, Allison embarked whole-heartedly on the teaching path to bring the gift of yoga to others. She is deeply steeped in the healing power of yoga, and continually deepens her knowledge of the Forrest Yoga system by attending trainings and assisting her teacher, Ana Forrest. Also a Pure Yoga Faculty Teacher Trainer and National Manager of the Pure Yoga Teacher Training program at Equinox, she is sought after as a leader in training new yoga teachers. Allison encourages her students to listen internally for the deep wisdom of their Spirits. Her classes, workshops and teacher trainings are known for their physical, anatomical, philosophical and spiritual depth – all interwoven into an amazing tapestry accessible to all students. She has been voted “Best Yoga Instructor – Chicago” by the Chicago Reader, and featured in articles and interviews on the Examiner, Northwestern’s Medill Journal and Vital Juice.
